TRAINING PROGRAMS
Yet another service provided by IGPC to its client governments is a comprehensive postal training course. When necessary, IGPC brings newly appointed postal officials to our New York headquarters to learn basic training in the laws and requirements of international mail. This includes creating and utilizing cancellation devices, first day cover design, foreign postal requirements, general postal administration, written correspondence with foreign postal administrations, philatelic database management, organization, storage and re-order of stamps and supplies.

While in New York, IGPC sends the trainees to the United Nations Post Office for additional hands-on training which includes the day-to-day operations inside an active international postal location. This also provides an opportunity to see how the mail is delivered, sorted and sent out of an active and busy location.

After completing this concentrated course on postal administrative management, these managers return to their countries with a comprehensive knowledge about how to oversee their country's postal systems and train their own assistants. This training also provides insight to these managers on how to modernize their own post offices back home.
