MARKETING & PROMOTION Where large volumes of topical stamps can be used as promotional devices, IGPC will arrange for premium promotions and tie-ins. For the popular John Lennon stamps, over a dozen rock & roll radio stations in the U.S. organized promotional contests where the stamps were publicized and sets were given away as prizes. This was done similarly with the stamps inspired by Disney films. Stamps commemorating the 20th anniversary of Sylverster Stallone's Rocky were promoted through Planet Hollywood locations. In every instance, the credibility and integrity of the stamps are retained and the image of the issuing countries is carefully respected. When the significance of a particular postal issue goes beyond the normal interest level, IGPC has successfully organized extraordinary media events for the purposes of attracting the interest deserved to the issue. Held in appropriate locations relating to the issue(s), these events always generate enormous coverage, well beyond the attention paid to a release of lesser importance or interest. These events are often attended by government officials, U.N. diplomats, celebrities related to the subjects depicted and important names in the world of philately. These events also feature guest speakers, video presentations, musical performances and the unveiling of enormous, giant sized postage stamps.
